Csaba Markus

As a youth he passed countless hours in museums, studying the art
and sculpture of artist such as Michelangelo and Botticelli.
Markus likes to say that he learned his skill directly from the Old Masters,
as he personally touched priceless paintings and tried to capture the
secrets of the classical masterpieces. He read voraciously, devouring
as many as three books in a single day on a variety of subjects which
ranged from physics to history.

The classical influences in Markus’s art are tied to his origins in Budapest,
Hungary, where he was born in 1953. His formative years were spent
in the city of Budapest, metropolis filled with ancient palaces, yet
intertwined with the bustle of a modern city Markus recalls playing
soccer with his friends in a two thousand year old Roman theater.
and he attended school next to a king’s palace.
