高中以来就喜欢Carole King她那青春芬芳、直言无悔的感情态度与那稍微沙哑的自然嗓音。或许跟市场上流行的甜美女声不同，也不能算是美女，但我就爱那样的调调，像邻家大姐般缓缓地诉说自己的心情故事和人生观。
1942年出生於纽约布鲁克林的Carole King四岁时便开始弹钢琴，大学时曾组过乐团，不过其是以词曲创作的身份初入乐坛并崭露头角，与其第一任丈夫Gerry Goffin是词曲创作的最佳黄金组合，1987年两人一同荣获Natiional Academy of Songwriters终身成就奖，1990年同时引荐进入词曲创作及摇滚名人殿堂。Carole King除了词曲创作的成就之外，1971年其以歌手身份发行的专辑「Tapestry」更是大获好评，专辑停留排行榜上长达302周，其中还包括15周的冠军王座，於隔年的葛莱美奖颁奖典礼上更是出尽锋头，成为第一位女性囊获「年度最佳专辑」、「年度最佳唱片(It's Too Late)」、「年度最佳歌曲(You've Got A Friend)」、「年度最佳流行乐女歌手」等四项大奖，全球专辑销售量超过一千万张。
