个展前三日，展馆方面临时要求所有投保作品均须出具英文翻译。
吾初闻此说颇为不悦，因事出突然，且迫近展期，工作量繁重（凡展作计60余件）。书法多为自作诗，包括五七言绝句；国画题款有原创诗词，亦有创作心得，皆为彼一时感受，三十年间，五味杂陈。
不得已重新逐件检阅，随即转念，“万事相互效力”。译就译，毕竟英诗是本家本行，趁此机会重操旧业，整出“信达雅”，权作日后备案。
于是静坐两个上午，译文上交展馆西娃，其读之骇然感动，以为莎翁重生。
兹举一二例，余者陆续后发。
其一 书法
东去年年纸上飞，不如巢燕自由归。
眼前落叶纷纷舞，应是菱香月下围。
译文：
Eastward year after year
On paper I fleet
Less free than swallows homing in retreat
Before my eyes the whirling leaves take flight
Family members must be sitting around
like lotus flower in moonlight
其二 题画（创作心得）
“读万卷，行万里，交千人，历辛苦，饱沧桑，纳百川，方可练达真诚。
岂斤斤于几缕华发，几枚皱纹之虑也！”
译文：
Read ten thousand scrolls, travel ten thousand miles, meet thousands of souls through trials and tides.
Only then, tempered by time’s furnace wide, Can one hold oceans within and speak true.
Why fret over threads of grey hair, Or count each wrinkle etched with care?
