萧娘脸薄难胜泪，桃叶眉头易觉愁。
天下三分明月夜，二分无赖是扬州。
The tender cheeks of this coy lass cannot stem tears,
Upon her peach-leaf-brows, grief easily appears.
If all moonlit nights could provide three equal shares,
Two-thirds of which I owe Yangzhou, still in arrears.

Tears from Xiaoniang’s coy cheeks easily flow,
On her peach-leaf-brows, woes swiftly show.
If moonlit nights were split into three debts,
Two-thirds of which to Yangzhou I do owe.
