Length: up to 800 words
Topic: How has the recession affected you, your family or someone you know?
Requirement: Submissions must be original, unpublished work (the writing can have been published in a student publication).
Prize: $1,000 (for each of the 2 winners/one from high school, one from college); $200 (for each of the 5 finalists)
