“I know what you will do. You’ll kill me, right? You don’t like me. You never liked me, right? I wish I could leave this house. I wish I don’t have to come back to this house ever again!”
“I know you are mad at me, and I know you will kill me. I don’t want to stay here. I want to leave this place!”
这个时候,我已经基本从震惊中缓过神来。本来没有生气,却因为突如其来的这番对话,气恼起来:“Ok, you can leave this house if you want to, but do you know what that means?”
“Of course I know, but I don’t care. I can have anything but staying in this house!”
“Fine. No problem! But before you go, please make sure you leave everything dad and mom got for you, including your clothing. Otherwise I am afraid you don’t get to go.”
我不是有意气她,我是用我当时脑子里唯一能够反应过来的笨拙方式稳住她。她中计了,哈哈,无可奈何地停在大门口,背对着我,啜泣着小声反抗:“No, I won’t take off my clothes.”
I wish you were softer on little J at the beginning :(
I hope buying Wii was your original plan, not because of that 'run-away' incident. Don't want little J to feel that she was rewarded by trying to run away :)
BTW, what's your official policy on 'copying' other people's work to your children? You probably should seriously talk with J on this issue. Personally I wouldn't ban my children from copying other people's home work. I would say that it's better to finish independently, but if that's impossible, then copying with understanding is better than not doing it at all. It's not a 'capital crime' for sure :)
The purpose of home work is for kids to learn. Copying home work is not the same as cheating on a test.
