据《每日邮报》6月12日报道，尽管很多人在看医生的时候都有恐惧情绪，但也不至于要人抬着去。可是英国切斯特动物园中的一条大蟒蛇去做健康检查时，却需要动用7名动物园工作人员。

这种巨蟒通常以啮齿动物、哺乳动物以及鸟类为食，有的也吃灵长类，甚至是人类。

它们用身体将其缠绕，直至窒息死亡。雌性巨蟒每次可产下60到100只卵，70天到90天即可孵化。
