2009年7月13日，中国上海，今天本是刘翔生日，但他并没有请假在家过生日，而是为了复出继续在室内训练馆埋头苦练，当训练结束之后刘翔一边接受按摩一边聆听孙海平教练讲解，由于天气十分炎热，最后刘翔直接把衣服脱了挂在身上赤膊与师傅两人骑脚踏车回到宿舍，两人边骑边聊天。
