东非国家苏丹西部马拉山脉（Marra Mountains）8月31日发生山崩，导致一座村庄被夷为平地，全村上千人罹难，只有1人倖存。
路透2日报导，苏丹叛军“苏丹解放运动/军”（The Sudan Liberation Movement/Army）1日表示，连日大雨后，苏丹西部马拉山脉8月31日遭逢山崩，当地一座村庄“完全被夷为平地”，至少1000人丧命，仅1人存活。
该组织向联合国及国际援助组织求援，协助寻找罹难者遗体。

2023年苏丹政府军与准军事组织“快速支援部队”（Rapid Support Forces）在西部的北达佛州（North Darfur）爆发内战，当地居民为逃离战乱，南下躲进食物及医疗用品皆匮乏的马拉山脉避难，这场持续2年的内战导致数百万人流离失所。
目前网络上已开始流传当地山崩画面，尚无法确认视频及照片真实性。
