据报道，当地政府为倖存居民开放了一个临时居留设施。
沃克又指，消防员救出养老院内的许多住客。该中心旨在协助老年人在工作人员的帮助下单独生活。几名被救出的住客当场被宣布死亡，另有多人被送往医院，其中一人情况危殆。
据《波士顿环球报》报道，福尔河消防局局长Jeffrey Bacon14日向媒体表示，消防员到达时，有些人正站在窗边等候救援。
Bacon告诉记者，火灾原因正在调查中，他说：“这对涉事家庭和整个社区而言是一场难以言喻的悲剧。”
沃克指，救援行动中有五名消防员受伤，但没有生命危险。
