据《每日邮报》报导，24日早晨，太阳才刚升起，1300名前来参加裸泳活动的参与者就戴着五颜六色的假发、花环，甚至只戴着羊毛帽子，手拉着手兴奋地来到德鲁里奇湾（Druridge Bay），迫不及待要立刻跳入冰冷的海水中。

报导称，今年的东北裸泳活动已进行到第11届。这是一项为心理健康机构Mind举办的募款活动。自2012年以来，裸泳活动已为Mind筹募了超过10万英镑。
