Barnes）表示，凶嫌作案动机在于对台湾侨民不满，他在座车内留有字条，内容与「他对台湾侨民的仇视」有关。
他在教堂内开枪行凶，造成1死5伤，伤者中有4人为重伤。
凶嫌名为大卫．周（David Chou），现年68岁，住在拉斯维加斯（Las
Vegas），警方将他依1项杀人罪状和5项杀人未遂罪状记录在案。
联邦调查局（FBI）表示，已针对这起带有政治动机的凶案展开仇恨犯罪调查。
