严重的蝗虫灾害

　　据德国《柏林日报》和英国《泰晤士报》消息，澳大利亚东南部地区近日遭遇严重的蝗虫灾害。4月上旬以来，大批蝗虫席卷东南部的4个州，覆盖约50万平方公里的区域，给当地居民的生产和生活带来严重影响。专家预计，蝗虫灾害可能向内陆地区蔓延。

　　受灾区域包括昆士兰州、新南威尔士州、维多利亚州和南澳大利亚州等四个州，当地百万亩小麦和牧草等植物已经被蝗虫啃食一空。这些蝗虫移动非常快，巨大的蝗虫群一夜之间可以飞越几百公里的区域，给当地农民带来的损失最为严重。

出行受到影响

　　居民的正常生活也受到影响。由于担心蝗虫可能会卷入飞机的发动机中，一些公路、民航部门的交通被迫中断。有的汽车司机为了出行，不得不在前窗上安装了防护栏，以免受到蝗虫的干扰、发生事故。米尔迪拉高尔夫俱乐部的环保人士西蒙·纽威这样形容蝗虫的泛滥：“城镇里到处都是蝗虫，公路被它们完全覆盖，人们根本无法清除它们。”

　　据悉，蝗虫灾害在澳大利亚并不罕见，但是今年异常严重。澳大利亚东南部地区此前遭受严重干旱的影响，近来忽然下了好几场暴雨，一些河流、池塘溢满，给蝗虫的繁殖提供了极好的环境。

　　专家警告，蝗虫群正向内陆地区移动，那里可能会爆发更大的灾害。蝗虫专家阿德联森认为：“9月中旬到10月，我们估计整个澳大利亚内陆地区会发生大规模蝗虫灾害。”
