李咏和哈文夫妇，一个是当红主持，一个是著名制片。两个人当年还曾为是否生一个孩子而产生过重大分歧。当年的李咏是铁了心不想要孩子，因为他觉得两个人都处于繁忙的工作中，根本没有时间来照顾教育孩子。而妻子哈文却十分喜欢小孩坚决要生一个孩子。 李咏最终还是没有说服老婆，于是在2002年5月20日女儿豆豆像一个小天使一样降临到了这个家庭。可令人没有想到的是，当初一直坚称不喜欢孩子的李咏自女儿降生，态度马上180度大转变，有时间便与孩子一起玩耍嘻闹，带女儿外出游玩，变身成了模范老爸。
从女儿出生第一天便李咏开始坚持写起女儿成长日记，记录女儿的成长历程，七年间从未间断过。为了给孩子找个伴儿，与孩子一起成长。在豆豆五个月大时经过与北京动物园接洽联络，李咏又亲自选中了一匹年与女儿出生仅相关两天的小斑马，以女儿的名义认养，并将此做为送给女儿的第一件礼物。
此后，李咏和女儿不定期地多次到北京动物园看望这匹取名为“豆豆”的小斑马。如今，小豆豆已经七周岁了，李咏常说：“在家里，老婆是自己的理财师，而把女儿当作了小情人”！
