流行天后泰勒丝位于美国罗德岛州韦斯特利（Westerly）沿海富裕社区守望山镇（Watch Hill）的豪宅，5月14日附近海滩冲上了人类遗骸，警方经过追查后确认了死者身分。
据《福斯新闻》报导，处理本案的罗德岛州南京斯顿（South Kingstown）警察局表示，死者为麻萨诸塞州4月18日被通报失踪的31岁男子韦恩（Eric Wein），他的车子从4月10日以来就停放在南京斯顿。
警方指出，本案并未发现任何谋杀的可能，目前已结束调查。另外，美国康乃狄克州、罗德岛州、麻萨诸塞州，从今年3月以来陆续发现13具遗体，网络上开始流传有“新英格兰（美国东北角地区）连环杀手”在作案。
不过，韦斯特利警察局长金杰瑞拉（Paul Gingerella）强调，韦恩之死和任何杀人犯都没关係，在社群媒体上的新英格兰连环杀手推测也属于谣言。
