刘翔三度光临济南奥体中心训练场，都没有发生意外，这让“翔之队”放松了警惕。决赛前，刘翔还像往日一样在训练场跑道上寻找比赛的感觉。刘翔放松练习的时候，一位与他身高相近的男子从身后抱住了刘翔。

　　有一段视频清晰记录下了“熊抱”的全过程。视频显示，该男子身着黑色运动外套，他走到刘翔身后，趁其不备伸开双臂抱住刘翔，神情陶醉，意犹未尽。被意外抱住的刘翔奋力挣脱，摆脱熊抱后口中念念有词，显得相当气愤。当时就在旁边的教练孙海平正在帮刘翔摆放栏架，未能目睹“熊抱”一幕。
