由于无力偿付房贷以及失业，不少美国人流离失所，无奈之下只好住到冬冷夏热的帐篷里。此情此景，不由得让人想起上世纪30年代经济大萧条期间美国的流民潮。
在美国GettyImages于9月30日拍摄的这组图片中，美国内华达州里诺市（Reno）市中心搭建了大大小小的帐篷（如图），是众多无家可归者的“安乐窝”。与之形成鲜明对比的是，在离帐篷城不远处就是豪华赌场，很多赌徒在那里一掷千金。
内华达州本身是美国失业率最高的州之一，而从全国蜂拥来到该州赌场找工作的失业大军，使其就业状况雪上加霜。近日，一个新开张的赌场收到了2.5万份求职简历，而职位却只有1000个而已。
这个帐篷城在美国并非绝无仅有。实际上，全美各地都零零星星地出现了类似的聚集地。
照片拍摄之际，里诺的天气还比较暖和。可是到了冬天，里诺的气温估计将降到摄氏零度以下，这些无家可归者的健康令人堪忧。
