Collins was a little under wind when debating against Richard Dawkins who is a very sharp. The one that can match with Richard Dawkins is John Lennox. I would recommend Lennox's book "Gunning for God" if you have time.

I have converted and become Jewish. I believe Judaism is the right way to go if you want to be religious and stay on the path for life. Too bad we Jews never proselyte. I can't stay with Christianity because it's a blind faith and doesn't allow any intelligent discussion. Judaism isn't about what you believe, it's about what you do in your life. You can have different opinions about the ancient texts and whatnot, but regardless of what your beliefs are you will have to conform to the guidance of the Torah and the rabbinical teachings. Fair enough. If I do the mitzvah accordingly, and as best as I can, I can be claimed among the righteous. And what I do in this life is more important than the promise of after life. In Judaism there's neither hell nor heaven awaits, only the world to come, the unknown sphere. And that's the afterthought that we humans don't need to fret about too much. Do the right thing, or follow the 613 commandments of G-D for Jews. And live a simple, joyful life.
The good Bible is often read awry by many priests. This nourishes ignorance and depravity in American society, which in turn induces the surge of Trump turmoil today which rampages to the detriment of American democracy and Christian civilization.
