GOP are sloganeering "experts", for what that is worth.

Trump has repeatedly taken credit for having been "right" on issues of terror, and on Monday he continued to face scrutiny for a tweet he posted on Sunday that read: "Appreciate the congrats for being right on radical Islamic terrorism, I don't want congrats, I want toughness & vigilance. We must be smart!"

"I'm getting thousands of letters and tweets that I was right about the whole situation," Trump said on Fox News. "I mean, I've been right about a lot of things, frankly... I was right about many, many things."

Trump was actually more dog-whistle than usual. I've heard Michael Savage say it. I've read it on comment boards. The right has got itself into such a crazed, terrified state that they are pointing at the president himself (as well as their own neighbors and half the nation) and saying he is a traitor--some sort of Manchurian Candidate that is actually in an elaborate scheme against America.

Trump has been a real Archie Bunker to these folks. He's right there with them, blustering in terror, hiding under the bed, frantically tapping on their keyboards about who we need to fear, who we need to kill. Just about everyone makes the list.

what jumps out at me is who Trump decides to give interviews to and once again its the networks or on air personalities he knows he can control. We all know how Trump operates with his "just sayin" way of saying and in this he is saying Obama is really on the side of the terrorists and we all know that is what he was saying. It seems none of the people in these interviews had the guts to say to Trump that he is saying the president is a traitor and helping the terrorists. Letting him dodge by letting him say "people are saying" is just what I would expect from pretty faced low quality journalists who want to be able to get more interviews with Trump..I've said it before and here I go again, the press still acts like they need Trump when it is completely the other way around......more

What Trump is saying is that Obama is not acting like someone who understands the Islamic problem we face in our country and around the world. He is a best, a Muslim sympathizer, after all he was born into an Islamic family and has Muslim relatives in Nigeria. At worst he is a trader, placing Muslim Brotherhood people -- which his own Justice Department has called a terrorist organization) in high places in our security apparatus. ...more

Is Mr. Trump as quick to take assault weapons off the street as he is to claim Obama or ISIS is responsible. Yes, there are a lot of people with hate, so can Mr. Trump defy the NRA and take guns off the street so hateful people can't use them for mass murder. If he as emphatic with doing something about guns, then I may listen to what else he has to say. If he blames everyone else but panders to the NRA on the guns, he's just hot air....more

A Democratic Senator was interviewed on NPR this morning, and asked about the "Islamic Terrorism" line... He said that He (The Senator) had not problem using the phrase Islamic Terrorism, but the question he wanted to know was, in what way did using those words materially change the response? He said he has repeatedly asked his "conservative" colleagues what specific changes to America's response they would make, other than using those words, and they don't have a practical answer...

To Trump everything is a conspiracy theory. In fact 99% of conspiracy theories do not stand up to scrutiny and are therefore false. People who adhere to conspiracy theories tend to be ignorant, misinformed and very paranoid to the degree that should seek psychiatric counseling. Tromp cannot prove or corroborate any of his conspiracy theories and avoids the question when called on it. He also suggests that fellow Muslims in this country know who the terrorists are and they should turn them in. Hitler did the same sort of thing causing people to turn in neighbors or even family members on suspicion or vindictiveness alone. ...more

"Look, we're led by a man that either is not tough, not smart, or he's got something else in mind," Trump said in a lengthy interview on Fox News early Monday morning. "And the something else in mind -- you know, people can't believe it. People cannot, they cannot believe that President Obama is acting the way he acts and can't even mention the words 'radical Islamic terrorism.' There's something going on. It's inconceivable. There's something going on."

This is practically unintelligible nonsense. I mean this guy talks maybe at a fourth grade level. The only thing clear is the innuendo that Obama is either involved in these attacks or is sympathetic to them ("There's something going on"). Trump is the most dishonorable (and stupid) person I have ever seen in public life and that is saying a lot ...

Next time when POTUS tells you the problem, point by point precisely, ACT dont TWEET. Had you done so this would have been avoided entirely.

For those that don't know, the headline was changed. I think it would be ethical and moral for the journalist to have in the body of this article what the headline was before, and why it was changed. This would help the reader to get a sense of the author's (obvious) bias and willingness to editorialize vs simply report the news. I also think it's rather interesting that attached to this article is a slide show of "These Republicans won't vote for Trump". I wonder if the same agenda would befall Hillary....more

Everybody is "the militia." By definition it's the citizenry taking up arms for a cause. You can choose to sit it out, but the rest of us have a right to stand up for ourselves, given the likelihood that enemy is our own Federal government.
The founders were treasonous rebels who overthrew their Government, in part because of high taxes and using taking over the Church. Remembering the history tells you all you need to know about the intent.

The fools here supporting Obama and more gun control are overwhelming. This is a gun control issue. This is an Islamic terrorist issue and it ridiculous to think that an Islamic terrorist would not have guns whether or not guns are legal in the United States.

Don't you think it's odd that Obama allows at least 22 Islamic terrorist training camps to operate freely in the United States and he works hard to disarm America. Connect the dots brainwashed youth.

By the way is there an Islamic terrorist training camp near you? Go here to see.

    Story highlights

    • Clinton says Trump's rhetoric is 'dangerous'
    • Trump wants Muslim communities to turn in bad guys

(CNN)Hillary Clinton said Monday she's not afraid to say "radical" Islam as she countered attacks from Donald Trump that she's too politically correct to use the phrase.

"From my perspective, it matters what we do more than what we say," Clinton said on CNN's "New Day." "And it mattered we got bin Laden, not what name we called him. I have clearly said we -- whether you call it radical jihadism or radical Islamism, I'm happy to say either. I think they mean the same thing."

Clinton -- who also reupped her call to restore the assault weapons ban -- was forceful in dismissing Republicans' criticism -- vocally echoed by Trump -- that President Barack Obama and Democrats won't describe such terror attacks as "radical Islamic terrorism."
Clinton's comments went further than she has before in the language she uses to describe radical Islam and swiftly undercut one of Trump's central lines of attack against her regarding the fight against terrorism. Her interview Monday morning also notably separated the former Secretary of State from Obama's approach -- in his remarks from the White House on Sunday about the massacre, he never used the words "radical Islam" and he's made it a point not to do so in similar past domestic attacks.
RELATED: Does it matter if Obama uses the term 'Islamic terrorism'?

Trump was also interviewed later on "New Day" Monday morning about the Orlando attack, and repeated the charge that Democrats' reluctance to say "radical Islamic terror" was hampering efforts to combat terror.
"The first thing you need is a president that will mention the problem. And he won't even mention what the problem is," Trump said. "Unless you're going to say that, you're never going to solve it."
Trump then claimed Clinton was "afraid to use [the term] because President Obama doesn't want her to" before host Christine Romans corrected him, pointing out Clinton had just used the term in the preceding interview. After Romans interjected, Trump replied, "She would love to use those words because almost everybody agrees that those words should be used."
In her appearance, Clinton also was quick to link the attack to the terror organization.
"This was a terrorist attack. ISIS appears to be claiming credit for it, whether it had anything to do with it or not -- at a minimum, they seem to have inspired it," Clinton told host Chris Cuomo.
And Clinton took a veiled swipe at Trump, who has proposed temporary banning Muslims from entering the United States, for targeting Muslims in his campaign rhetoric.
"What I won't do, because I think it is dangerous for our efforts to defeat this threat, is to demonize and demagogue and declare war on an entire religion," she said. "That plays right into ISIS' hands."
Clinton hit Trump by name, saying, "I think that Donald Trump's rhetoric is quite dangerous to our country."
The presumptive Republican nominee, citing the Orlando attack, also repeated his warning that Muslim communities aren't doing enough to self-police and report cases of extremism and radicalized individuals before attacks occur.
"The communities that we're talking about, they know about this guy. They knew that this was tremendous potential for blow up," Trump said.
"Right now we have thousands of people in the United State who have the same kind of hate in their heart as he had. And we have to know who they are," he added.
Trump also reiterated his opposition to accepting Syrian refugees, adding that terror problems "will only get worse."
Clinton, in her interview calling the aftermath of the attacks a "time for statesmanship, not partisanship," projected confidence in the United States' ability to defend against future terror attacks.
      CNN Politics app
"We have the resources, relationships and experience to get it done," she said. "And this is a moment -- for Republicans, Democrats, independents -- for all Americans to work together as one team. It's time for statesmanship, not partisanship. Our fellow citizens should expect that."
And the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee made the case for stricter gun safety laws in the wake of the massacre, arguing that "common sense gun safety reform across our country would make a difference" while calling for the reinstatement of an assault weapons ban.
"We can't fall into the trap that is set up by the gun lobby that says if you can't stop every shooting in every incident you should not try to stop any. We did have an assault weapons ban for ten years. I think it should be reinstated," she said.
On the other hand, Trump said that if people in Pulse had been armed, the scope of the tragedy would have been lessened.
"If you had guns in that room, if you had -- even if you had a number of people having them strapped to their ankle or strapped to their waist, where bullets could have flown in the other direction right at him, you wouldn't have had the same kind of a tragedy," Trump said on CNN.
In a separate interview on Fox News' "Fox and Friends," also on Monday, Trump continued to criticize the Obama administration's anti-terror efforts and even hinted at some hidden motivation for Obama.
"We're led by a man who is very -- look, we're led by a man that either is not tough not smart, or he's got something else in mind. And the something else in mind, you know, people can't believe it. People cannot believe, they cannot believe that President Obama is acting the way he acts and he can't even mention the words radical Islamic terrorism. There's something going on. It's inconceivable. There's something going on," he said.

Donald Trump seemed to repeatedly accuse President Obama on Monday of identifying with radicalized Muslims who have carried out terrorist attacks in the United States and being complicit in the mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando over the weekend, the worst the country has ever seen.

In that same interview, Trump was asked to explain why he called for Obama to resign in light of the shooting and he answered, in part: "He doesn't get it or he gets it better than anybody understands -- it's one or the other and either one is unacceptable."

After the deadly shooting in an Orlando nightclub on June 12, some in politics pushed for stricter gun control while others asked for prayers. GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump ignited controversy with his tweets. (Jenny Starrs/The Washington Post)

For months, Trump has slyly suggested that the president is not Christian and has questioned his compassion toward Muslims. Years ago, Trump was a major force in calls for the president to release his birth certificate and prove that he was born in the United States. On the campaign trail, Trump has repeatedly stated as fact conspiracy theories about the president, his rivals and Muslims, often refusing to back down from his assertions even when they are proven to be false.

During an appearance on the "Today" show later Monday morning, Savannah Guthrie pushed Trump to explain what he meant in the earlier interview.

"Well there are a lot of people that think maybe he doesn't want to get it," Trump said. "A lot of people think maybe he doesn't want to know about it. I happen to think that he just doesn't know what he's doing, but there are many people that think maybe he doesn't want to get it. He doesn't want to see what's really happening. And that could be."

[Trump and Clinton and their very different responses to the Orlando shootings]

Guthrie asked Trump why that would be, and the presumptive Republican presidential nominee responded: "Because Savannah, Savannah, why isn't he addressing the issue? He's not addressing the issue. He's not calling it what it is. This is radical Islamic terrorism. This isn't fighting Germany; this isn't fighting Japan, where they wear uniforms."

Trump's spokeswoman and campaign manager have yet to respond to a request for a fuller explanation of Trump's comments about the president.

In December, Trump called for a temporary ban on allowing foreign Muslims into the country as a way to protect against terrorist attacks. Recently, as he faced pressure from fellow Republicans, Trump seemed to back away from the religion-based ban, saying that it was merely a suggestion. But after this weekend's mass shooting, Trump has doubled down on his call for a ban, saying that the United States is allowing in terrorists who could stage even worse attacks.

"That man yesterday was sick with hate," Trump said on Fox. "You have many, many people, thousands of people, already in our country that are sick with hate. And people that are around him, Muslims, know who they are, largely. They know who they are. They have to turn them in. They know who they are. They see them."

During a brief interview on ABC's "Good Morning America," Trump was asked how a ban on foreign Muslims could have prevented the Orlando shooting, as the shooter, identified as Omar Mateen, was born in the United States.

"We have many people coming in whose hate is equal to his and just as bad and even worse, frankly, and we have to stop people from coming in," Trump said, adding that gun control measures also could not stop a terrorist attack.

"The problem was that we have a maniac, we have a madman. He could have used a bomb. He could have used other things, just as easily, just as easily," Trump said. "It would have been, probably, even more devastating. So that's not the problem."

Trump is scheduled to give a speech about terrorism in New Hampshire on Monday afternoon, and he declined to provide details on the types of policies he might advocate for, other than saying: "I'm calling for strength. I'm calling for intelligence."

GOP are sloganeering "experts", for what that is worth.

At worst he is a trader, placing Muslim Brotherhood people -- which his own Justice Department has called a terrorist organization) in high places in our security apparatus. ...more

Hitler did the same sort of thing causing people to turn in neighbors or even family members on suspicion or vindictiveness alone. ...more

This lowlife just takes his cheap shots from the peanut gallery. What would he do to prevent a lone gunman born in this country from committing the Orlando massacre, deport all Muslim born citizens. I hope you Trump supporters see how crazy your candidate is. Over the last week when he should have been attacking Hillary Clinton, he has instead been attacking other Republicans. They do something he doesn't like and his thin skin will not allow him to keep his focus on the election. I have growing confidence every day this clown will not only not get elected, he will bring the Senate down with him. Go Donald!...more

How about blaming the individual that did the act and the people that supplied him with the gun and ammunition? Lets stop those people....more

I also think it's rather interesting that attached to this article is a slide show of "These Republicans won't vote for Trump". I wonder if the same agenda would befall Hillary....more

"how [could] a ban on foreign Muslims could have prevented the Orlando shooting, as the shooter, identified as Omar Mateen, was born in the United States?"
Easy - his parents were not born in the US, but came from the Middle East. His father, Seddique Mateen, is a Muslim - read about him at

      2. When Chaney/Bush lied to the American people and invaded Iraq under the false assumption that weapons of mass destruction were located in the country and El Quida was linked to Saddam Hussain, no one questioned or investigated Chaney/ Bush. Obama had to clean up their mess.

          Wait 1 second to continue.

Donald Trump seemed to repeatedly accuse President Obama on Monday of identifying with radicalized Muslims who have carried out terrorist attacks in the United States and being complicit in the mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando over the weekend, the worst the country has ever seen.

In that same interview, Trump was asked to explain why he called for Obama to resign in light of the shooting and he answered, in part: "He doesn't get it or he gets it better than anybody understands -- it's one or the other and either one is unacceptable."

Trump is scheduled to give a speech about terrorism in New Hampshire on Monday afternoon, and he declined to provide details on the types of policies he might advocate for, other than saying: "I'm calling for strength. I'm calling for intelligence."
