孩子被人说Chinese flat face. 怎么应对？

女儿七岁，看着她粉嫩的脸，我有时会忍不住去摸。有一次我摸着她的鼻子说“小扁鼻子”，她就说“my Chinese flat face”。我问她哪听来这么个说法的，她说坐school bus的时候有个孩子murmured. 我问你确定他是说你吗？女儿说那时候周围没什么人，应该是说她。女儿说那个孩子黑头发，看不出是什么人种。

我们这虽然不像加州那么多中国人，但因为是好学区，最近几年很多中国人迁入，现在班上一半是中国孩子，女儿也很多玩伴，没想到居然会碰到这样公然歧视的言行。我该怎么跟女儿解释呢？如果下次再碰到类似的行为，孩子应该如何应对？因为有时在家我也会说她扁鼻子，所以她这次听了这样的话并不难受。
