歌友妖妖，非常好学，受其感染，来这里和大家分享一些英语学习的小心得。我家LD是英语人，我经常发觉在同一件事情上面，我们的表达方式不太同。譬如“不太喜欢什么东西”，他会说，I can care less，说人家不太聪明，他会说，not the brightest bulb on the christmas tree，嫌我说话声音太大了，他会说，honey, we have neighbours. :))
我呢于是就收集了一些，他们英文人平日里会用的一些俚语，或者惯用语，觉得还蛮有意思的。譬如：
<Jump in the shower>：字面的意思：跳进冲凉房。也有地方说 Hop in the shower。
我其实一直就不明白，take a shower 为什么要“跳进去”，我以为特指“很快地洗个澡”， 因为Jump 给我的感觉就是有点着急，后来发觉，人家基本就是洗澡的意思，虽然有时候也指 take a quick shower。
例句：
- I am gonna jump in the shower: 我去冲个凉；
- I feed the dogs, put the coffee on, and jump in the shower：我喂好狗，把咖啡煮上，然后冲凉。
- I’ll be right back, I’m gonna go jump in the shower： 我去洗个澡，我马上回来。
<Bob’s your uncle>: 你如果听人说这句话，多数的情况下，他不是在告诉你，他有一个叫Bob的叔叔。这句话的意思是：没事儿了，搞定了！非常口语化，用途也很广泛。
例句：
- You add two cups of water and heat it for five minutes and Bob’s your uncle, the soup is ready. 加两杯水，加热五分钟就搞定，汤做好了！
- ” I will heat up some leftover meat, and then steam some vegetable. Bob’s your uncle! We will have nice dinner tonight.” 今晚我会热一下剩菜，再蒸一个蔬菜，晚餐搞定！
- You just download the app, sign up and hit the start button. Bob’s your uncle: 你只要下载这个App，注册，然后点击开始按钮就搞定了。
<Knock on wood>: 字面意思： 敲一下木头。
你可能经常会听到人家说着说着，就来这么一句，上下文中根本没有木头啊，怎么忽然要“敲一下木头”呢，原来这句话的意思是“ 好运继续，坏运气走开”，从例句中更能理解这个短语的用法：
例句：
- I haven’t had one accident so far. Knock on wood. 目前位置，我还没有发生过任何交通事故，敲一下木头 (希望永远不要发生）。
- The team I support has been winning every game so far, knock on wood. 我所支持的球队，目前位置全胜，敲一下木头（希望一直赢）。
- We have had a smooth journey so far, knock on wood. 目前位置，旅途一切顺利，敲一个木头 （希望一直顺利下去直到结束）。
