2010年1月14日，美国佛罗里达州，美国国家公园局的专家Wayne Hartley在蓝泉国家公园进行为期两天的调查时217只海牛齐聚海岸扎堆取暖。
佛罗里达州的居民和野生动物近来都受到历史罕见的低温天气影响。虽然无法和美北部寒冷地区动辄零下20几度的低温相比，但目前的温度在地处亚热带的佛罗里达州南部也已是非常少见的了。
