2009年7月29日，上海，近日，周慧敏现身上海趁空挡同陈可辛共进晚餐，和导演谈电影聊天吃饭很显然是为自己的复出做准备。
席间，周慧敏发现有被跟拍，为了避嫌从酒楼做出租车先行离开。稍后发现从酒楼里走出来的陈可辛手上拿着厚厚的笔记本，神态轻松。应该是在同周慧敏讨论新电影的拍摄，周慧敏的复出之作很有可能就是由陈可辛担当制作。
回到下榻酒店的周慧敏看到镜头依旧露出招牌微笑，助理手上还拿着酒楼的打包食物，看来应该是对刚才的佳肴还意犹未尽。从双方前后步出酒楼开始，两者心情都甚好，似乎合作已成定局。
