Chapter 8
I was happy to talk to Ellie again. She’s been gone for one whole year. I was hoping for her to come back. Ally and I logged off and took out our flutes. We practised together. We practised and practised and practised. I didn’t even get a drink until after 40 minutes! We kept going until finally it reached 2 hours. We only took 2 drinks! We lazily put our flutes away. Then we went to take a rest. I let Ally rest on the top bunk of my bunk bed.
After 20 minutes, we finally had the energy to get back up again. We went on our laptops and played on www.missioncomplete.com for half an hour. Then our eyes got tired so we went to study for our test. Soon, it got boring so we played our favourite card game called Speed. Ally won 3 times but I only won once. Ally’s like an expert at this. Then all we wanted to do was lie down on my sofa and talk. It was really fun.
Soon, Ally had to go home. We said good bye and then I went to take a nap. I was really, really, really, tired. Soon I was fast asleep dreaming about the music competition coming up next week.
I rubbed my eyes and sat up. I had fallen asleep. But now I wasn’t tired at all anymore. In fact, I had more energy than ever. I looked at the time. Ally was finished her computer private lesson. I ran over to the phone and dialled Ally’s number, (905) 425 – 1828. Ally picked up the phone on the third ring. “Hello?”
“Hey. Is it Ally?”
“Yeah. Let me guess. Monica.”
“Yeah. Wanna come over?”
“Again?”
“Well, I’m full of energy since I fell asleep while resting on my bed. You wanna?”
“Sure! I’ll be there in 5 minutes. Bye!”
“Bye. See ya.”
I hung up and went to change. I wore a green and white striped spaghetti stripe shirt and a thin, orange skirt. I washed my face of all the sweat and then did up my hair in a bun with my pink hair band. I turned on my laptop and logged on to www.specialagenttrivia.sa. That was our office’s website. I signed into my account and opened Microsoft word. I started to draw graphs and type stuff on the document window until I heard the door bell ring. I picked up the speaker phone. “Hello?” “Hello Monica, it’s Ally. Open the door.” “Sure.” I hung up and pressed the button on the phone. Then a beep rang out and Ally came in with her green leather bag.

Ally came upstairs to my room as I finished creating and labelling a graph. “Working, eh?” “Nah, just too bored to do anything else. Now that you’re here…” – I saved my document and closed my laptop – “we can play together!”
Ally and I each ate a cookie and drank a glass of milk. Then we took out our flutes and practised for half an hour. After that we watched Worse Than Worse Missions – Episode 9, our favourite show on television. When it was over Ally said, “Monee, I’m so excited! The competition is in 6 days! I really want to win!” “Me too,” I said. That gave me an idea. I called Allan, Jason, and Janisa. They came over and we practised in a band! After half an hour Jason and Janisa had to go. Ally and I went onto www.twyf.sa and again, Ellie was online. We talked to her while Allan typed a story on the downstairs computer.

For the next 3 days, Ally and I went to school, came to my house, practised with Allan, Jason and Janisa, went on the computer to talk with Ellie, and then did some other individual stuff. The 4th day was on Saturday. I woke up and changed into a pink shirt and yellow shorts. I quickly finished my cereal when I heard the phone ring. I picked it up. “Hello?” “Hey, Monee. Wanna go to the LAM secret meeting place?” “Sure. See you there!” I hung up and did my hair up into 2 braids. Then I picked up my orange leather bag with: my special red leather notebook, my watch, my laptop, and a bottle of water and some crackers. Then I jumped onto my bicycle and rode over to the school playground.
The Musical Wizards band met at our secret place. We had lots of fun. Allan also brought his laptop so I transferred the story he wrote yesterday to his laptop. Then I shared my crackers and we drank some water. After that we went home.
Then Janisa invited us to the water park. I changed into my green Dyrvamon bathing suit and scrubbed on some sunscreen. Then I put a t-shirt and shorts on top. I met the other band members at the water park. And we spent the rest of the day there. When we went home, dinner was ready, and after we ate, we climbed into bed and didn’t wake up until Sunday morning…
