4 kinds of chips: 1) civil, 2) industrial, 3) aerospace and 4) space levels. Basically China can not make any high-level chips (3 & 4) and only some level 1 and 2 which can not used in airplane and satellite, etc. Also China cannot make any advanced engines for high-level fighters and used to buy them from Russian and Ukraine which are in war now and Russian and Ukraine engines are only 1/2 - 3/4 life time of US engines. Now we have so many military drills in Taiwan area which cause lots of damages for the engines. China may not have enough and good fighters if can not get more engines from R and U. Several years when China wants to start Unification War he will find most of his fighters are too old (especial the engines) and cannot fly anymore, so it's only a dream having a war with TW (even no US, Japan, etc.).
