When talking about IT, it covers a variety of sub-areas from programmer to software engineer ....to AI... not less than a few dozen. Within tech field, it is always under going a dynamic change or shift. Not sure which sub-field of IT is being impacted the most by this round of laying-off.
That the tech giants one after another recently started laying off their employees is a bit unusual. This may really indicate that the macro-economy is in a very bad shape. I also think probably they took this opportunity to re-shape their workforce to remove the dead woods.
Or perhaps, the economy driver is undergoing a shift from technology to another sector?
