Theory II Overheating
MH370's ACARS was giving signals parked at the gate before take off indicating Doppler velocity of 80-90knots. Overheating of the temperature sensitive AFC oscillator in the Rockwell Collins CMU-900 is the logical cause for this. The CMU-900 also controls VHF radio, Transponder and ACARS therefore if the CMU-900 was overheating before take-off, it is plausible that the failure of this one unit accounts for loss of contact with MH370, caused pilots to turn back and resulted in a cockpit fire after they turned back.?

What has not been public knowledge is that further transmissions from MH370's transponder were detected at 17:50 UTC east of Malaysia at 06.9298 North, 103.5901E. that position is 23 nautical miles north of IGARI.
