The Taiwan Strait has been largely peaceful for the last 70 years even neither side has stopped rhetoric. Both sides have realized that keeping the status quo is their common denominator and in their best interests. Now Xi Jinping wants to take over Taiwan by force. That has caused tensions and invited an international outcry. Invading Taiwan will certainly force the West to impose complete sanctions against and cause China’s economy to collapse. Although Xi is a hotheaded lunatic, if his dictatorship is on the line, he will know what to do. So peace will continue over Taiwan Strait just like the past 70 years unless internal unrest breaks out or China’s economy is in dire straits
