2010年1月21号，美国亚利桑那州，改装赛车大赛发生意外，一辆赛车出发后不久左轮胎脱落，失去控制撞向了赛道旁的护栏，在猛烈的撞击下，车上装载的汽油倾泻而出，引擎部位迅速起火，持续滑行一段时间后，赛车终于停了下来，救护人员迅速扑灭了车上的火，所幸驾驶员没有受伤。但一名在观众席上观战的女子却不幸被飞起的轮胎击中，虽然被紧急空运到医院，还是不治身亡。
