(Sumei
(Steven

Report: Chinese Woman Disappears At O'Hare
The Chicago Tribune reported that Sumei Hu flew into O'Hare on Feb. 26 on her return to her American husband after a long visit with her family in China.
But somewhere between customs and the area where her husband was waiting for her, Hu disappeared, the paper said.
Now her family and Chicago police are trying to determine what happened to the 38-year-old woman.
"It's just incredible. How can somebody disappear out of the airport?" Hu's husband, Steven Frasch of Sheboygan, Wis., said Sunday.
The Tribune said that video footage shows Hu arriving at O'Hare Tuesday afternoon on an American Airlines flight from Tokyo -- the last leg of travel from her hometown of Guangzhou, China -- and checking in at customs, police Sgt. Jeffrey Peraino said.
Investigators are looking at more airport footage to try to piece together the woman's steps, he told the paper.
Frasch and Hu were married in November 2005, he said, after meeting on an Internet dating service. She had traveled back to China in September to visit her 15-year-old daughter from a previous marriage, as well as other family in Guangzhou.
"None of her family has heard from her," the paper quoted Frasch as saying. "She's just a beautiful person inside and out. Our last conversations were just so happy."
Hu reportedly did not have a credit card, but police could not rule out whether she may have left on another flight, the paper said.
"Could she have turned around and walked up to the counter and purchased another ticket?" Peraino said. "It's possible."
Frasch told police that he couldn't remember the name of his wife's friend who paid for her airfare to China, but investigators were trying to determine who that was.
The paper reported that Hu's family said she was wearing a brown hat, black jacket with fur trim, pink sweater, green gloves and jeans. They said also said that she has only a basic understanding of English.
