Chairman XX, members of the Board. In a few moments, you will be recognizing my friend and associate Dr. XX (my name) now retiring. But first I’d like to read this statement into the record. Rarely do people have the opportunity to know intimately or work closely with someone whose talent and accomplishments have impacted them not only personally but also others, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. Such is the person of Dr. XX.
Those of us who have had the opportunity to work with her, have witnessed her epidemiology skills during scores of investigations and interactions with officials at the highest level including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Dr. XX is known for her no-nonsense approach to not only disease and outbreak investigations, but also in Incident Command, and meeting management, which earned her the affectionate nick name General XX.
Dr. XX has always been willing and eager to work the extra time it took to lead investigations, and also volunteer time to help in other projects after hours and on weekend, like the recent XXXXXX survey. She always took time to explain highly technical information for consumption by her public information officer and the general public. Her intellect and dedication along with her humor and temperament make for a personality mix that endears her to everyone, and it will be sorely missed.
I could go on and on with stories of how she has epitomized the (agency’s name) mission of protecting and enhancing the quality of life for citizens of X county, but that would still fall short of describing the full appreciation that many of us here at the (agency’s name) for Dr. XX.
In closing, it has been a pleasure and honor to work with you Dr. XX. On behalf of myself and many many others, I thank you for your hard work and friendship and wish you the best in your retirement.
Q:Did our county ensure no non-citizens included in the active voter roll?
A:In regards to verification of citizenship we do not have access to any database to cross reference. It is on the honor system when a person registers to vote and they read the statement on the application swearing they are a citizen. If a non-citizen does get on the voting rolls they have now jeopardize their ability to become a citizen in the future.
