What I am saying is that the current economic development would have been developed a generation earlier. Take Taiwan as an example.

This is a general trend. The recent 30 years must be better than anything happened in 1840. This is even true for Somali and Afghanistan.

This again is an international trend. People in most developed countries have better life after WWII.
Whenever communism is concerned, I recommend you to compare USSR with USA, GDR with FRG, North Korea with South Korea, and China with Taiwan.
The success of Chinese in western countries suggests that China deserves much better than now.
The Chinese economy has come to a point that no further progress is possible without a major political reform, the general election.
The statement “the Chinese Communist Party is the natural choice of Chinese people” can be well confirmed through a general election. Should being elected, the Chinese Communist Party will perform much better than it does now.

Of course, that's true. But do you really believe that is what people like this author have in their mind. From their view points expressed in the article, it is very clear that they won't yield an inch unless the Chinese poeple are willing to shred some blood.
This world is dominated by western countries. China cannot fight its way to succeed in the world. But China cannot sacrifice its core interests by caving in to western countries' demands either.
China has to adopt certain values and rules from western countries to make western countries to accept China grudgingly.
China needs time to develop its economy and reform its political system.
"我预计王小石不久可以升官了", it is just a fake name. This guy represents the mainstream in the current Chinese government. All these people want is to preserve the current corrupt system so that they can benefit from it; the real interests of the Chinese nation are not in their mind.
1. Is western countries' democracy good? Yes.
2. Can western democratic system be applied to China without significant modification? Probably not.
3. Has Chinese government led China to make great progress economically in the last thirty years? Yes.
4. Can China's current political system be good for China's future without significant modification? Probably not.
