The most important thing is you can at least produce your own food. Self sufficient and self reliant give you the freedom to be your own master. On the other hand in the city, most grocery stores only have 3 days of food on the shelves. If some thing happen and food trucks can't come on time, everybody knows what will happen.
The increasing price of farm land is also a huge plus.

Understand it's very hard work and most dangerous job. One can get injured and nobody is near to save you. One needs to buy farmer insurance to protect against bad weather. One bad year and you can lose a million. I know a millionaire farmer can't persuade his sons to take over his business. It's very high risk

The farming tax is quite low.
