日前美国3名女子失踪十年后再次与家人团聚，但是这一美好结局的背后被曝出痛苦的往昔。《今日美国报》5月7日消息称，3名女子被囚禁期间饱受殴打与性虐待等难言的屈辱。
执法人员表示有证据显示这3名女子至少在部分被囚禁的时期内曾被锁链束缚。她们甚至在怀孕期间遭到殴打，而胎儿在未诞生之前便已夭折。嫌犯的房间内发现了牢房以及锁链等工具。
在被问及为何这3名女子在密集的居民区内可以被囚禁这样久而不被警方发现时，当地警方表示警员曾至少两次在女子失踪期间同嫌犯有过接触，但两次接触均与失踪女子的案件无关。
目前，3名犯罪嫌疑人已被控强奸和绑架，但警方称虐待的细节以及如何被绑架等问题仍不清楚。警方正在查证3名受害女子被囚期间是否身处同一房间还是被分置于不同位置。

美国时间6日，俄亥俄州克利夫兰市一处民宅中，3名遭绑架失踪达10年的女子被成功解救，其中一名女性被认为在禁锢期间产下一女，目前尚不清楚3名女性是否遭受折磨。目前警方已逮捕涉嫌非法禁锢三名女子的三兄弟，但案情仍有待调查。由于失踪长达10年，一些亲友甚至认为她们可能已遭毒手，如今3人重见天日，数百民众涌上街头进行庆祝。

这三名女孩失踪的十年间，因为亲属不断寻找，她们的故事从未在当地媒体报道中消失。
这三名女孩在2002年至2004年间相继失踪，离奇的是她们被绑架的地点距离被囚地仅5公里，但是十年间却没有任何人发现她们的行踪。
美国联邦调查局资料显示，阿曼达·贝丽最后一次“现身”是2003年4月21日，时年16岁的贝丽从工作的快餐店下班，准备返回几个街区以外的家中，之后不知去向，失踪那天距离她17岁生日只有一天，而贝丽获救后跟在身边的女儿被认为是被迫与疑犯所生。
2004年4月2日，14岁的吉娜·达杰萨斯从学校回家路上失踪。
而三人中唯一未公布照片的米歇尔·奈特失踪时21岁，她从堂姐家里离开后就不知所踪，警方曾一度对奈特的失踪不怎么重视，他们认为成年的奈特只不过是离家去别处了。
追查3名失踪女子的努力一直没中断，两名男子2004年因涉嫌达杰萨斯失踪案而被捕，两年后获释。2006年9月，警方根据线报，搜查那两名男子使用的车库，动用嗅探犬却没有收获。

“救命！我是阿曼达·贝丽……我被绑架了，我失踪了10年，我在这里，现在我自由了。”美国俄亥俄州克利夫兰市911报警电话6日记录下一名女子发狂似的求救。
报警电话中，贝丽说，一名男子把她带出那座位于该市西部的住宅。这名好心人是住在隔壁的查尔斯·拉姆齐。他表示，自己听到隔壁有人呼喊，发现贝丽正似乎不顾一切地试图打开一扇仅能插入一只手的门。
拉姆齐说：“我看到这个女孩发了疯似地试图出去。”贝丽能够清醒地叫出自己名字，让拉姆齐感到吃惊。
贝丽的“室友”吉娜·达杰萨斯、米歇尔·奈特和一名6岁儿童一同获救。
