重返加州十七哩湾风景线（A Return to the 17-Mile Drive)

Again, I was in the 17-Mile Drive in the end of April. The sun was warm and shining like in the mid-summer. The ocean water was turquoise blue and the sand was super white. A gentle breeze brushed softly against my face. The picturesque scenery simply took my breath away. The wonderful landscape caused me to cry out "Lord, if you love anyone, then set them down in this land". 

No one would argue that the 17-Mile Drive is one of the most scenic drives in the world and definitely the most beautiful stretch of the central coast of California. On this serpentine road, nearly every turn off deserves a postcard. The route begins in the small town of Monterey and runs along the breathtaking Pacific coastline to Pacific Grove. 

You can travel on the road to catch a glimpse of the magnificent Spanish Bay, Bird Rock, Spanish- style villas, mid century mansions, Lone Cypress, and of course, the famous Pebble Beach Golf Course. The route is 17 miles and can be driven in an hour. However, you can also spend a long weekend to digest it all.

 You would have chance to discover the fascinating animal and plant life as well as beautiful panoramic vistas along the 17-Mile Drive. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Pacific Ocean is roaring against the rocks.

Blooming wildflowers adorn the beautiful coastline. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Ghost Tree has a white trunk bleached from wind over the years. 

Though cypress trees are all around the 17-Mile Drive, this particular cypress tree has stood tall over 250 years and perched up on a few rocks at the edge of the water. 

 

The Lone Cypress is an ideal climax for an eventful trip along the spectacular 17-Mile Drive. 

 

After you've finished the drive and seen all the interested points, you'll end up at the golf course lodge which is a perfect place to overlook the famous Pebble Beach Golf Course, to soak in the atmosphere, stop around and have lunch. 

 

 

 

Although I've been on 17-Mile Drive many times, but it never gets old. Every time I visit, it's like I'm seeing it for the first time. And it lifts up my spirit every time. Every trip to this gorgeous road brings unexpected surprise and reward. Each visit creates timeless memories.
