我的妻子不见了，还有她的那些衣服。
她留下两只尼龙长袜，
一把发刷掉在床后。
我想让你知道
这些曲线优美的尼龙袜，和缠在
刷鬃之间粗硬的黑发。
我把尼龙袜丢进垃圾袋；刷子
我要留着自己用。只是这张床
看着奇怪，却又说不清为什么。

My Wife  By Raymond Carver

My wife has disappeared along with her clothes.
She left behind two nylon stockings, and
a hairbrush overlooked behind the bed.
I should like to call your attention
to these shapely nylons, and to the strong
dark hair caught in the bristles of the brush.
I drop the nylons into the garbage sack; the brush
I’ll keep and use. It is only the bed
that seems strange and impossible to account for.
