这本出版于2001年的书，在用问卷研究百万富翁时得到733人（全部是百万富翁）的回应。所以样本还是不小的。

书中有很多很有趣的数据（比如，50%的人是在家里工作的；90%以上是大学生；52%是研究生以上学历）。但是我今天想讲的是有关教育的部分。

致富的必要条件（Financial Success Foundation）:

1. Integrity-- being honest with all people

2. Discipline-- applying self control

3. Social Skills -- getting along with people

4. A supportive spouse

5. Hard work -- more than most people

致富的充分条件：

1. 发现机会，愿冒风险：Saw an opportunity that others ignored (发现别人忽略了的机会）and had the willingness to take financial risk given the promise of good return

2. 很强的领导能力：Most have strong leadership qualities

3. 产品独特，与众不同 :（do not follow the crowd!  Think different)

所以，我说，以上这三点才是培养子女的重点(5个必要条件是容易满足的）！

我们要教孩子的敏锐的眼力和愿冒风险的精神；

我们要教孩子的领导能力；

我们要教孩子的敢为天下先的品质。

大背景：一定要是大学生但不一定要是藤校生!  原话是：

Most of us did not attend selective or competitive schools, Nor, when surveyed, did we indicate that graduating from a top-rated college was important in explaining our economic success.

结论：

爬藤不是致富的充分条件。以上三点才是（在大背景前提下）！
