Like most left liberal socialists, you have a confused understanding of free market capitalism, as well as the US Constitution, as shown by your many previous blogs. Even your logic (much like your understanding of the x-ray crystallography diffraction analysis, as well as the ridiculous analogy of Nieng Yan with Barr and Huawei) is flawed. Faulty logic would only ruin your argument, however much merit the case itself has.
There is nothing wrong with what B in your novella has done, as it is well within his contract with the employing firm and law. He is however no analog of Huawei and A is no analog of any American firm. Huawei is colluding with the Chinese government, to steal intellectual properties and sabotage the Western society. American firms and society are no feeble A, who is obligated by contract to share his knowledge, which is the property of the firm, with A who is, just like B, an employee of the firm. On the contrary, American firms hold independent property rights that is protected by the US Constitution/laws. They have absolutely no obligation to share the intellectual properties and trade secrets with anyone unless contracted to do so. US as a country has the constitutionally conferred obligation and all the power the citizens of this country paid for with tax to protect the properties, including the intellectual properties of its citizens from any harm and sabotage. It can choose to trade or not to trade with any entity for any or no reason and to penalize any entity which exacts harm on its citizens. There is ample evidence of Huawei's sabotaging behavior and intent along with the controlling host the Chinese communist party government, itself has breached for two decades almost all the WTO commitments. It is within US' full right to disassociate itself (freedom of association) from any entity. It has yet to penalize Huawei yet. Moreover, Huawei is no A who has mastered all B's knowledge and exceeded him, American firms are no B who has lost technological edge. On the contrary, American firms have overwhelming technological edge over China, notwithstanding the stride China has made by hook and crook, stealing and copying --- however hard working they are. That is precisely why Trump has the confidence to sanction China. China has so far been largely in paralysis.
Besides, the suffocating environment the Chinese are working is not conducive to creative work. So long as American firms do not sell out by themselves, such as being too generous in sharing information and surrendering intellectual property in exchange for short term market gain, they should not worry about China overtaking them. The creativity and the technological sophistication of China is far below that of the Soviet Union in its heydays. The US beat the Soviet Union to a pulp, in the not too distant past.
